So Just Who Invests In Bad Ol Bain Corp

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion/opedcolumnists/look_who_parks_their_cash_at_bain_88KSQrw8BXciEidja2ZQXN

Yes, I know the illustrious history of Bain and all of its successes, and  all the HUGE businesses that were the recipients of Bain's investment funds  and/or business guidance. We know all the names--Staples, Bright Horizons, AMC  Entertainment, Brookstone, Burger King, Burlington Coat Factory, Clear Channel  Communications, Domino's Pizza, Double Click, Dunkin' Donuts, Guitar Center, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), Sealy, The Sports Authority, Toys "R" Us,  Warner Music Group, The Weather Channel ... to name just a few. However, DID YOU KNOW that Bain has enriched dozens of organizations and MILLIONS of individuals who are the ones screaming most loudly for Obama's re-election? I certainly didn't.

DID YOU KNOW that government-worker pension funds are THE CHIEF beneficiaries of Bain's economic stewardship? DID YOU KNOW that  the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, the Iowa Public Employees' Retirement  System, the Los Angeles Fire and Police Pension System, the Public Employees'  Retirement System of Nevada, the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio, the  Pennsylvania State Employees' Retirement System, and there's many others ...  have entrusted $1.56 BILLION to Bain?

Those funds aggregate the savings of millions of unionized teachers, social workers, public-health personnel and first responders. Do you think these people--all of whom we see at Obama rallies as he whips them into a frenzy as they robotically clap like trained  seals--would be STARTLED to learn that their nest eggs are entrusted and  incubated by the company that Romney launched and the financiers he  hired---namely, EVERYONE who Obama demonizes?

DID YOU KNOW that the California State Teachers' Retirement System ALONE has pumped $1.25 BILLION into Bain? And, did you know that the spokesman for CalSTRS, Ricardo Duran, said in an article on August 12 in the Boston Globe, "Since 1988 private-equity companies like Bain have out-performed every other asset class to which CalSTRS has allocated the cash of its 856,360 largely unionized members."

Oh, wait, there's more ...

DID YOU KNOW that the leading liberal indoctrination center shave also profited from Bain's expertise? Yes, indeed.  Bain has managed wealth for endowments and foundations for Columbia, Princeton and Yale universities!

DID YOU KNOW that Purdue University, University of California, University of Michigan, University of Virginia, University of Washington have collectively placed almost $425 million with Bain Capital?

DID YOU KNOW that major, center-left foundations and cultural establishments have also been the recipients of Bain's success?  The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, the Doris Duke Foundation,  the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Ford Foundation, the Heinz Endowments and  the Oprah Winfrey Foundation (ain't  that a kicker!) ... EVERY ONE OF THEM have all been clients of Bain Capital.

So, why am I pissed, you may ask? It seems like on a daily basis I'm pulling my damn hair out of my head at what appears to be the absolute inability and ineptitude (in my opinion) on the part of the Romney campaign to respond coherently in rapid-fire response to SO MUCH of what comes at them from the other side but, in particular to this subject, to all the Bain-bashing that has been directed their way by Obama himself, and all of his spokes people for so many months. My God ... any ONE of the above facts could have dampened or negated all that Bain-bashing, but ALL OF THEM?  Why haven't those points been talked about publicly on the campaign trail?  Or, at the very least, why hasn't any of Romney's p.r. people responded on his behalf? And while we may think we've seen it and heard it all in regards to the Bain attacks, we probably ain't seen NOTHING like we're going to see at the Democratic convention. They'll no doubt go back to accusing Romney and the other ”greedy" Bain co-founders of stealing their winnings, evading taxes and lighting  cigars with $100 bills on their yachts while throwing caskets overboard of those  they killed with cancer.

After stepping to the microphone and reading off all of the above facts, know what I would say if I was the Romney spokes person? "Hey, all you union workers, and government-worker pension  administrators, liberal left foundations and cultural establishments, and  leading liberal universities ... how 'bout you take your funds and turn it  over for incubation and investment with the Federal government? Let Obama invest your money in the Post Office, in Amtrak, in solar energy companies and in electric car companies. Then, hold your breath 'till you get that first dividend check."

Maybe then Romney would be up 20 points right now.
