The Real Reason

OH! Now I understand!!! You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much? Read this: Boy, was I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us. I now find that to be RIDICULOUS. I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them. I also have included the URL's for verification of all the following facts.

1. $11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year by state governments. Verify at: http://tinyurl.com/zob77

11. During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our Southern Border also, as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from Terrorist Countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroin and marijuana, crossed into the U. S from the Southern border. Verify at: Homeland Security Report: http://tinyurl.com/t9sht

WARNING Based Past Actions

'Never Underestimate the Power of Stupid People in Large Groups' A Little Gun History Lesson

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. In 1911, Turkey established gun control.

From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! I
n the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.

Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!
It will never happen here?
I bet the Aussies said that too!
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns.

The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it. You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens. Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind him of this history lesson.

With Guns.................We Are 'Citizens'. Without Them.........We Are 'Subjects'.

During W.W.II the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!
Note: Admiral Yamamoto who crafted the attack on Pearl Harbor had attended Harvard U 1919-1921 & was Naval Attaché to the U. S. 1925-28.

Most of our Navy was destroyed at Pearl Harbor & our Army had been deprived of funding & was ill prepared to defend the country.

It was reported that when asked why Japan did not follow up the Pearl Harbor attack with an invasion of the U. S. Mainland, his reply was that he had lived in the U. S. & knew that almost all households had guns.

If you value your freedom, Please spread this anti-gun control message to all your friends! True gun control is hitting where you're aiming!

AND NEVER, NEVER, NEVER SURRENDER YOUR GUNS!!!

Does Any Of This Ring True - Learn From History

Jefferson was right! In light of what is currently going on in this country, itʼs interesting toread what Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:

Thomas Jefferson:
When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe , we shallbecome as corrupt as Europe .

Thomas Jefferson: The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who arewilling to work and give to those who would not.

Thomas Jefferson: It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. Aprinciple which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.

Thomas Jefferson: I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the governmentfrom wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care ofthem.

Thomas Jefferson: My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from toomuch government.

Thomas Jefferson: No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.

Thomas Jefferson:The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and beararms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny ingovernment.

Thomas Jefferson: The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood ofpatriots and tyrants.

Thomas Jefferson: To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas whichhe disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.

Thomas Jefferson:
'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our libertiesthan standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks tocontrol the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprivethe people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on thecontinent their fathers conquered.'

Wake Up Americans Now

WHO WILL FEED THE COW

The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was whileteaching third grade. The presidential election washeating up and some of the children showed an interest. Idecided we would have an election for a class president. We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaignspeech and the class would vote.

To simplify the process, candidates were nominated byother class members. We discussed what kinds ofcharacteristics these students should have. We got manynominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked torun for the top spot.

The class had done a great job in their selections. Bothcandidates were good kids. I thought Jamie might have anadvantage because he got lots of parental support. I hadnever seen Olivia's mother. The day arrived when theywere to make their speeches.
Jamie went first. He hadspecific ideas about how to make our class a better place. He ended by promising to do his very best. Every oneapplauded. He sat down and Olivia came to the podium.

Her speech was concise. She said, "If you will votefor me, I will give you ice cream." She sat down. The class went wild. "Yes! Yes! We want ice cream."

She surely would say more. She did not have to. Adiscussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the icecream? She wasn't sure. Would her parents buy it orwould the class pay for it. She didn't know. The classreally didn't care. All they were thinking about wasice cream. Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a landslide.

Every time Barack Obama opens his mouth he offers icecream, and fifty two percent of America reacts like nine yearolds.

They want ice cream.

The other forty eight percent knowthey're going to have to feed the cow.

Obama’s R oad to Damascus By John Perazzo FrontPageMagazine.com Tuesday, November 11, 2008 http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/Read.aspx?GUID=376A8A3B-62DD-407F-8D48-F38B2A63B96E
History will record that Barack Obama’s first act of diplomacy as America’s president-elect took place two days after his election victory, when he dispatched his senior foreign-policy adviser, Robert Malley, to meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad—to outline for them the forthcoming administration’s Mideast policy vis-à-vis those nations.

An aide to Malley reports, “The tenor of the messages was that the Obama administration would take into greater account Egyptian and Syrian interests” than has President Bush. The Bush administration, it should be noted, has rightly recognized Syria to be not only a chief supporter of the al Qaeda insurgency in Iraq, but also the headquarters of the terrorist organization Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the longtime sponsor of Hamas—the terrorist army whose founding charter is irrevocably committed to the annihilation of Israel.

Yet unlike President Bush, Obama and Malley have called for Israel to engage in peace negotiations with Syria. A Harvard-trained lawyer and Rhodes Scholar, Robert Malley is no newcomer=2 0to the Obama team. In 2007, Obama selected him as a foreign policy adviser to his campaign.

At the time, Malley was (and still is today) the Middle East and North Africa Program Director for the International Crisis Group (ICG), which receives funding from the Open Society Institute of George Soros (who, incidentally, serves on the ICG Executive Committee). In his capacity with ICG, Malley directs a number of analysts who focus their attention most heavily on the Arab-Israeli conflict, the political and military developments in Iraq, and Islamist movements across the Middle East.

Prior to joining ICG, Malley served as President Bill Clinton’s Special Assistant for Arab-Israeli Affairs (1998-2001), and as National Security Adviser Sandy Berger’s Executive Assistant (1996-1998). Robert Malley was raised in France. His lineage is noteworthy. His father, Simon Malley (1923-2006), was a key figure in the Egyptian Communist Party.

A passionate hater of Israel, the elder Malley was a close friend and confidante of the late PLO terrorist Yasser Arafat; an inveterate critic of “Western imperialism”; a supporter of various revolutionary “liberation movements,” particularly the Palestinian cause; a beneficiary of Soviet funding; and a supporter of the 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

According to American Thinker news editor Ed Lasky, Simon Malley “participated in the wave of anti-imperialist and nationalist ideology that was sweeping the Third World [and] … wrote thousands of words in support of struggle against Western nations.” In a July 2001 op-ed which Malley penned for the New York Times, he alleged that Israeli—not Palestinian—inflexibility had caused the previous year’s Camp David peace talks (brokered by Bill Clinton) to fall apart.

This was one of several controversial articles Malley has written—some he co-authored with Hussein Agha, a former adviser to Arafat—blaming Israel and exonerating Arafat (the most prolific Jew-killer since Adolph Hitler) for the failure of the peace process.

Malley’s identification of Israel as the cause of the Camp David impasse has been widely embraced by Palestinian and Arab activists around the world, by Holocaust deniers like Norman Finkelstein, and by anti-Israel publications such as Counterpunch.

It should be noted that Malley’s account of the Camp David negotiations is entirely inconsistent with the recollections of the key figures who participated in those talks—specifically, then-Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, then-U.S. President Bill Clinton, and then-U.S. Ambassador Dennis Ross (Clinton’s Middle East envoy).

Malley also has written numerous op-eds urging the U.S. to disengage from Israel to some degree, and recommending that America reach out to negotiate with its traditional Arab enemies such as Syria, Hamas, Hezbollah (a creature of Iran dedicated to the extermination of the Jews and death to America), and Muqtada al-Sadr (the Shiite terrorist leader in Iraq).

In addi tion, Malley has advised nations around the world to establish relationships with, and to send financial aid to, the Hamas-led Palestinian government in Gaza. In Malley’s calculus, the electoral victory that swept Hamas into power in January 2006 was a manifestation of legitimate Palestinian “anger at years of humiliation and loss of self-respect because of Israeli settlement expansion, Arafat’s imprisonment, Israel’s incursions, [and] Western lecturing …” Moreover, Malley contends that it is both unreasonable and unrealistic for Israel or Western nations to demand that Syria sever its ties with Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, or Iran.

Rather, he suggests that if Israel were to return the Golan Heights (which it captured in the 1967 Six Day War, and again in the 1973 Yom Kippur War—two conflicts sparked by Arab aggression which sought so permanently wipe the Jewish state off the face of the earth) to Syrian control, Damascus would be inclined to pursue peace with Israel.

Malley has criticized the U.S. for allegedly remaining “on the sidelines” and being a “no-show” in the overall effort to bring peace to the nations of the Middle East. Exhorting the Bush administration to change its policy of refusing to engage diplomatically with terrorists and their sponsoring states, Malley wrote in July 2006: “Today the U.S. does not talk to Iran, Syria, Hamas, the elected Palestinian government or Hezbollah….

The result has been a policy wit h all the appeal of a moral principle and all the effectiveness of a tired harangue.” This inclination to negotiate with any and all enemies of the U.S. and Israel—an impulse which Malley has outlined clearly and consistently—has had a powerful influence on Barack Obama.

It is notable that six months ago the Obama campaign and Malley hastily severed ties with one another after the Times of London reported that Malley had been meeting privately with Hamas leaders on a regular basis—something Obama had publicly pledged never to do. At the time, Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt minimized the significance of this monumentally embarrassing revelation, saying:

“Rob Malley has, like hundreds of other experts, provided informal advice to the campaign in the past. He has no formal role in the campaign and he will not play any role in the future.” But indeed, within hours after Obama’s election victory, Malley was back as a key player in the president-elect’s team of advisors—on his way to Syria.

Mr. Obama, meanwhile, received a most friendly communication from Hamas, congratulating him on his “historic victory.”

Here is How We Got Here

Disregarding the political bent of the writer, this is a thought provoking read for us all. I sincerely believe that, short of an immediate program of great sacrifice by all Americans, we are entering many years of great difficulty. We may well continue as the United States of America, but we will not continue to enjoy the highest standard of living. A strong argument can be made that we've already lost leadership in that regard. And we certainly won't be viewed as a global leader. It's fair to assume that it would be really hard to be a world leader when all the strong countries we're trying to lead are our creditors...to the tune of trillions of dollars. And so it goes.

China's Path to World Power
by Patrick J. Buchanan
For decades, before a heedless congregation, some of us have preached the old Hamiltonian gospel.

Great nations do not have trade partners. They have trade competitors and rivals. Trade surpluses are superior to trade deficits. Tariffs on foreign goods are preferable to taxes on U.S. producers. Manufacturing, not finance, is the muscle of the nation.

Economic independence is vital to political independence.

Following Hamiltonian precepts, the United States grew from 13 rural and agricultural colonies into the greatest industrial power in all history, producing 42 percent of the world's manufactured goods. We were the awe and envy of mankind, the self-sufficient republic, maker of half of the armaments produced by all the nations in World War II.

That is the America we grew up in -- that has now vanished.

Chrysler, Ford, perhaps GM, may be dying. Manufacturing has sunk to 10 percent of U.S. employment, a level unseen since before the Civil War. Europeans and Asians are to assemble in Washington this week to impose upon the United States a New World Economic Order like the one we imposed on them at Bretton Woods in 1944.

Such are the fruits of free-trade ideology.
Across the Pacific, a nation that studied how America rose, and watched as America declined, chose a different path. China adopted and pursued a China First policy of economic nationalism.
In July, Charles McMillion of MBG Services testified to the U.S-China Economic and Security Review Commission on China's progress.

Beijing began its astonishing rise by devaluing its currency 45 percent in 1994, slashing the prices of exports in half and making imports twice as expensive. As America threw open her market and invited China to come in and capture it, China had erected a Great Wall around her own.

Results: China's worldwide trade surplus in manufactures, $31 billion in 2001, hit $401 billion in 2007, a 1,300 percent increase, and may reach $500 billion in 2008. China has shoved Germany aside to become the world's greatest exporter and now leads the world in the export of manufactured goods to Japan and the European Union, as well as the United States.

While running trade deficits with Asian neighbors like Taiwan, to tie them politically to Beijing, China is running record trade surpluses with the European Union and the United States, making America and the West as dependent upon China for our manufactures as we are on OPEC for our oil.

Chinese auto production has quintupled since 2001. She now produces more cars than Germany and may exceed the United States in 2009. While Chinese auto exports are still heavily in parts, finished cars are coming soon to a dealer near you. The Chinese will likely run the sword through the last standing member of America's Big Three.

Before 2004, China's manufacturing trade surplus with America was largely in textiles and apparel. But, since then, China's rocketing trade surplus in electronics, computers and parts has far exceeded her surplus in textiles and apparel.

China's trade surplus in computers and components rose from $8.1 billion in 2001 to $73.5 billion in 2007. In cellular phones and parts, her worldwide trade surplus grew from $3 billion in 2003 to $50 billion in 2007, and may reach $60 billion by year's end.

China still imports commercial airliners. But she now has a large and growing trade surplus in airplane parts. This follows the pattern in textiles, computers and autos. First, the Chinese learn by assembling parts in factories in China. Then, China begins to produce the parts. Then, China produces the finished products and goes out to capture the world market, while protecting her own by keeping her currency cheap.

On items the Commerce Department categorizes as advanced technology products (ATP), America began running a trade deficit for the first time early in the George W. Bush years. China now exports to us four times as much, in dollar value, in ATP items as we sell to Beijing.

As America mothballs the shuttle, relying on Russian rockets to get our astronauts back up to a space station we built, China is putting men into space and heading for the moon.

Since America ushered China into the World Trade Organization in 2002, Beijing's growth rate has been four times that of the United States, accelerating from an average 10 percent of gross domestic product to 12 percent in 2007.

With her immense trade surpluses, China's reserves have surged from $200 billion in 2002 to $2 trillion. Awash in dollars, Beijing now waits patiently, writes McMillion, to cherry-pick the crown jewels of America's industrial empire -- "patents, talents, natural resources, brands" -- at fire-sale prices in the global crash.

As America plunges into recession and our industry hollows out, while China is still growing at 9 percent, as the 20th century's greatest creditor nation now borrows from Beijing to pay for booster shots for its sick economy, may we hear once again the Bush-Clinton refrain about how the terrible danger we all face is from "protectionism."

this our average man and his woman...............When no one is looking,,,,,,,what else will happen....................................................
Just who is going to have to give up some to fund all these promises..
Not sure you can read the bill but it is at 3 PM on Oct 15,2008
2 lobsters, an order of Iranian Caviar, bottle of champaign total $ 447 sign by Michelle OH Bama
Not a bad afternoon snack at the Waldof Astoria in NY City
Can you imagine if Cindy or John McCain had this and signed for it. The media would have been all over it.

What President Bush Could and Should Say

PRETTY MUCH SUMS IT UP But remember Bush did not write it!!!!!! to cover my backside
The following 'speech' was written recently by an ordinary Maine-iac [a resident of the People's Republic of Maine]. While satirical in nature, all satire must have a basis in fact to be effective. This is an excellent piece by a person who does not write for a living.

The speech George W. Bush might give:
Normally, I start these things out by saying 'My Fellow Americans.' Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don't know who more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has happened, and that you're really not fellow Americans any longer.

I'll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all in a lather, about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid prosecution or something, let me assure you: There's been no breaking of laws or impeachable offenses in this office.

The reason I'm quitting is simple. I'm fed up with you people. I'm fed up because you have no understanding of what's really going on in the world. Or of what's going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out.

Let's start local. You've been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media.

Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there's increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property than your economic security.

We face real threats in the world. Don't give me this 'blood for oil' thing. If I were trading blood for oil I would've already seized Iraq's oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. And don't give me this 'Bush Lied...People Died' crap either. If I were the liar you morons take me for, I could've easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be 'discovered.' Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence was faulty.

Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam had the goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime change in Iraq was official US policy before I came into office. Some guy named ' Clinton ' established that policy. Bet you didn't know that, did you?

Now some of you morons want to be led by a junior senator with no understanding of foreign policy or economics, and this nitwit says we should attack Pakistan , a nuclear ally. And then he wants to go to Iran and make peace with a terrorist who says he's going to destroy us. While he's doing that, he wants to give Iraq to al Qaeda, Afghanistan to the Taliban, Israel to the Palestinians, and your money to the IRS so the government can give welfare to illegal aliens, who he will make into citizens, so they can vote to re-elect him.

He also thinks it's okay for Iran to have nuclear weapons, and we should stop our foreign aid to Israel. Did you sleep through high school? You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back during the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally, the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to out spend and out-tech them.

That's not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don't care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That'd be fine, as long as they weren't also committed to taking as many of you with them as they can. But they are. They want to kill you, and the bastards are all over the globe. You should be grateful that they haven't gotten any more of us here in the United States since September 11. But you're not.

That's because you've got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law enforcement, and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that. When this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and difficult fight. I'm disappointed how many of you people think a long and difficult fight amounts to a single season of 'Survivor.'

Instead, you've grown impatient. You're incapable of seeing things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy. Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a cut-and-run Democrat's political campaign, well, dang it, you might just as well FedEx a grenade launcher to a Jihadist.

It amounts to the same thing. In this day and age, it's easy enough to find the truth. It's all over the Internet. It just isn't on the pages of the New York Times, USA Today, or on NBC News. But even if it were, I doubt you'd be any smarter. Most of you would rather watch American Idol or Dancing with Stars.I could say more about your expectations that the government will always be there to bail you out, even if you're too stupid to leave a city that's below sea level and has a hurricane approaching.

I could say more about your insane belief that government, not your own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I've come to the conclusion that were I to do so, it would sail right over your heads. So I quit. I'm going back to Crawford. I've got an energy-efficient house down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully self-sufficient for years. No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and as soon as I'm done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of America fall.

Oh, and by the way, Cheney's quitting too. That means Pelosi is your new President. You asked for it. Watch what she does carefully, because I still have a glimmer of hope that there are just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2008.
So that's it. God bless what's left of America. Some of you know what I mean.

The rest of you, kiss off.

PS - You might want to start learning Farsi, and buy a Koran.

Charlie Daniels take on B H O

Charlie Daniels on Obama
Guns and ChurchSince I identify with the people who fall into Barrack Obama's elitist description about people of faith who keep firearms I'm not very happy with Barrack Obama's recent remarks.

He said something to the effect that we rednecks cling to our guns and our religion when we get frustrated and I would like to take umbrage to these remarks. My faith goes much deeper than his superficial explanation and I love my guns even when I'm not frustrated. And I am not by myself.

I was going to church and shooting guns before Mr. Obama was even born and come from a long line of good people who have been doing it for generations. To me this latest Obama blunder only helps reveal the depth of condescension the far left wing of the Democrat party has for the folks out here in flyover country.

Mr. Obama's remarks are insulting to a lot of folks. God must love the common people because He made so many of them'.His remarks make me think that Obama doesn't know the people of this country very well.

I'm sure he knows the jet set and the Hollywood bunch, the limousine liberals and the save the whales, kill the babies crowd, but does he think that the ordinary people don't count? Does he think that they're so stupid that they don't know who he's talking about when he says these things?

Does he think their opinions aren't important?

Apparently. How can a man stand in front of America and tell people what he wants to do for them and have so little respect for a whole segment of the population? In fact, a very large segment.

Does that mean that he would only represent the high-minded liberal ideals of the far left and ignore the rest of us? What kind of Commander and Chief would he make if he doesn't respect the very people who make up the lion's share of the armed forces?

You may say I'm over reacting, but I'm getting sick and tired of him making these elitist statements and saying that he had been taken out of context or some other flimsy excuse.

After his wife's remark about not being proud of this country and his pastor's statements calling America the U.S.K.K.K.A. and his own statement about not wanting his daughter punished with a baby, it makes me wonder what kind of a man Obama really is and what kind of a President he'd make.

Would he be an antigun advocate pushing the effort to take the firearms out of innocent citizen's hands? Would he not respect the religious beliefs of America, not taking them into account in his agenda?

I really don't know much about the man and neither does America. He basically came from out of nowhere and as the facts come out little by little, they don't make a particularly confident picture.

I have a great fear that if our military gets broken by another president, this time we're not going to have time to fix it again and what that spells for America; I don't even want to contemplate.

Oh well, I guess I'll grab my gun and go to church.

Way t go Nancy

Snopes say is thisappears to be a facttoid:

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's home House District includes San Francisco .

Star-Kist Tuna's headquarters are in San Francisco , Pelosi's home district.

Star-Kist is owned by Del Monte Foods and is a major contributor to Pelosi.

Star-Kist is the major employer in American Samoa employing 75% of the Samoan workforce.

Paul Pelosi, Nancy 's husband, owns $17 million dollars of Star-Kist stock.

In January, 2007 when the minimum wage was increased from $5.15 to $7.25, Pelosi had American Samoa exempted from the increase so Del Monte would not have to pay the higher wage. This would make Del Monte products less expensive than their competition's.

Last week when the $770B bailout bill was passed, Pelosi added an earmark to the final bill adding $33 million dollars for an "economic development credit in American Samoa ".

And Pelosi has called the Bush Administration "corrupt". I guess she would know!

ACORN

Unfortantly I will be off line for the next several days as I have a 11 day commitment of community service that I do every year. I do hope and pray that each who has read my postings will continue to the battle for the good of our country. Believe me it is a battle to keep America on track. We do not need 4 years of radical leadership. I can not imagine Obama and his wife sitting in the White house. It is just beyond my relm of acceptance. How two such radical and miss guided people could even be in front of us is even more alarming.

Wednesday, October 15, 2008 2:04 PMBy: Dick Morris & Eileen McGann

As Obama lengthens his lead, the Republicans are praying that the election becomes close enough for the Democrats not to steal. But meanwhile, ACORN, the radical community group, is becoming an embarrassment for Obama.

It is not as if its shenanigans are likely to tip the result, with the Democrats so far ahead. But as it is raided by the FBI in state after state (11 so far), it is becoming identified as the electoral equivalent of Greenpeace, extremists who will stop at nothing to get their way.

What makes ACORN particularly embarrassing for Obama is that he used to be one of them. He served as general counsel for ACORN in Illinois, channeled millions to the organization from the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (whose funds he distributed) and has lately spent $800,000 of his campaign money to subsidize the group's activities.

For this emolument, ACORN has registered voters 15 times over, canvassed the graveyards for votes, and prepared to commit electoral fraud on a massive scale.

With friends like this, Obama doesn't need enemies. As their radical activities make headlines every day, Obama's intimate involvement with these radicals becomes more and more of a political liability.

The other Obama scandals have no topical relevance. The Rev. Wright no longer spews hatred from the pulpit and has apparently been persuaded to stay away from media interviews. William Ayers is likewise making himself scarce, and the Obama/Ayers relationship, whatever it may have been, is clearly in the past.

Rezko is facing sentencing in his own corruption case, but isn't likely to turn on the one man who may acquire the power to pardon him.

But, as Election Day approaches and early balloting proceeds in many states, ACORN's tactics will get more and more media attention. As election officials discover ACORN frauds, the association will become more injurious to Obama, particularly when it is his own campaign that is funding many of the fraudulent activities.

At the very least, the negative publicity ACORN will attract will paint Obama as a radical with questionable judgment. At the most, it might cause voters to wonder if he is not himself involved in electoral fraud.

The recent book by Wall Street Journal editor John Fund, "Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy," discusses the prevalence of voter fraud, made newly possible by lax enforcement of laws requiring identification to vote. As Fund indicates, the motor/voter laws have encouraged waves of new voters, many of them ineligible to participate. Let us remember that eight of the Sept. 11 hijackers were registered to vote!

So ACORN is the gift that will keep on giving as its activities attract attention while Election Day nears. But are these McCain attacks on Obama going to work?

Clearly they have not so far. Obama has lower negatives than McCain, and his unfavorable rating has not risen despite the avalanche of attack advertising to which he has been subjected.
Possibly, voters are just inured to the attacks and disregard them. But more likely they are just distracted by the financial meltdown all around them. We have never had a presidential race, since 1944, where the contest was not the most important news in the four weeks before the election. (In 1944, the war overshadowed the election, much to the frustration of the Republican candidate, Thomas E. Dewey.)

The candidates seem unable to get a word in edgewise as the financial news dominates. People follow the Dow Jones more than the Gallup, Rasmussen, or Zogby polls.

If the presidential race remains an afterthought, crowded out by the financial
news, Obama will waltz into the White House by a comfortable margin. But if the stock market stops its gyrations for a while and no new household name/corporation or bank goes broke, the negatives against Obama will compel attention at last.

And then the race may close swiftly and dramatically.

Tell Washington You Are Fed UP

Take Action!
• Let your representative and senators hear from you today!

Send your representative and two senators an e-mail telling them you want public hearings on this fiasco.• Forward this to your family and friends.

We are asking that each representative and each senator announce that they approve open congressional hearings on this matter. Their failure to respond will be interpreted as being against open hearings. I urge you to join this effort to hold our elected officials accountable.
October 6, 2008

Dear YOU,

Washington has just put every member of your family deeper in debt. Washington added $700 billion to what we owe, making our debt $11.3 trillion. That amounts to $37,667 for every man, woman and child in America. Several hundred million of this $700 billion bailout went for “pork barrel” spending which is unrelated to the financial crisis.

The financial crisis is the result of power-hungry politicians telling Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to make loans to people who could not afford them, and then Fannie and Freddie forced the banks they serve to do the same. Those who lived inside their means and bought what they could afford are seeing their retirement funds going down the drain while the responsible parties pocket their millions.

I am are fed up! How about you?

We demand open congressional hearings to investigate this matter. If we don’t act now, the politicians will sweep this under the rug.

• We want to know who did what, when and why that caused this crisis.• We are fed up with you mismanaging our money.
• We are fed up with you “taking care of your buddies” in smoke-filled back rooms.
• We are sick and tired of having our money taken from us and squandered by Washington for political gain.
• We are tired of individuals doing a shoddy job of running a quasi-governmental operation and being paid $90,000,000 with our tax dollars.
• We demand an explanation of how this crisis happened and who was responsible for it.
• If laws were broken, we want those responsible prosecuted. • For those who acted unethically, we want to know who they are and what they did.
• We want hearings on this matter, and we demand that they be open, not behind closed doors. • We hold Congress responsible to get to the bottom of this matter so that it will never happen again.

Who started it... Who failed to take action... Who blocked those who were trying to bring it up the attention of Congress...

We have a right to know so they can be fired... voted out...

President Bush did he do the right thing? Some say Yes

Like what he did or not take a couple minutes and listen to what some of our leaders in DC said as far back as 1998 right up until the day we went into Iran. How can we allow the media to warp the way we think?

Folks this is what they said then vs now? And noone holds them accountable... we the people why do we to put up with this crap, politics is going to bring down our nation unless we put a stop to it.

Take 3 minutes to view this video and then send the link around the world. View it full screen so you can see the names and dates (should anyone not know who they are). Save it, resend it often... THIS COUNTRY NEEDS TO RUN THIS VIDEO OVER AND OVER UNTIL ALL OF US FULLY UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING ON! ... The next time you hear the expression 'Bush's war' remember this video!!! And note that there is no 'opinion,' just direct video.

I pray that God will step in and protect our country... We are at least we could be his greatest
Christian nation. We were at one time but over the past 15 -20 years we have slipped out of that role. God is patient to a point. His demands are not hard to meet, but his expectations are quite clear.

If there is any doubt that about where the state of Israel and their people fit into Gods plan?
Not any doubt if you read and believe the Bible. God is real clear and based on the past few hundred years very predictable to anyone who has tired to kill them.

Take a Couple Minutes and Read This

I, for the likes of me, cannot understand why the mainstream media is STILL beating the dead horse, that there were "NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION IN IRAQ". If that were true, what did Saddam use to kill all those in his OWN villages? I'm with the belief that if any type of weapon is able to kill a whole village at once, then it should be considered a "weapon of mass destruction". If anyone thinks he wouldn't use the same stuff on the U.S. or ANYONE else, they must be parking themselves on the business end of a crack pipe. Go ahead Saddam, er uh, Barack Hussein Yer-mama, take another hit.
------------------------------

This is pretty powerful. Please just think about it.
I know everyone has a different opinion on the war and our current President, but this article makes a lot of sense. Take two minutes, read it, and give it some thought. Don't miss the last paragraph.

When electing the next President, the only decision you have to make is whom you want sitting in that seat in the White House when--not if--WHEN we get hit again, and millions of American lives are put at risk!

This is from: 'You ain't gonna like losing,' author unknown.

President Bush did make a bad mistake in the war on terrorism. But the
mistake was not his decision to go to war in Iraq. Bush's mistake came in
his belief that this country is the same one his father fought for in WWII.
It is not.

Back then, they had just come out of a vicious depression. The country was
steeled by the hardship of that depression; but they still believed
fervently in this country. They knew that the people had elected their
leaders, so it was the people's duty to back those leaders.

Therefore, when the war broke out, the people came together, rallied behind,
and stuck with their leaders, whether they had voted for them or not
and whether
the war was going badly or not.

And war was just as distasteful and the anguish just as great then as it is
today. Often, there were more casualties in one day during WWII than we
have had in the entire Iraq war. But that did not matter. The people stuck
with the President, because it was their patriotic duty. Americans put
aside their differences in WWII and worked together to win that war.

Everyone from every strata of society, from young to old pitched in. Small
children pulled little wagons around to gather scrap metal for the war
effort. Grade school students saved their pennies to buy stamps for war
bonds to help the effort.

Men who were too old or medically 4F lied about their age or condition,
trying their best to join the military. Women doubled their work to keep
things going at home. Harsh rationing of everything from gasoline to soap to
butter was imposed, yet there was very little complaining.

You never heard prominent people on the radio belittling the
President. Interestingly enough, in those days there were no fat cat
actors and entertainers who ran off to visit and fawn over dictators
of hostile countries and complain to them about our President.
Instead, they made upbeat films and entertained our troops to help the
troops' morale. And a bunch of them even enlisted.

And imagine this: Teachers in schools actually started the day off with the
Pledge of Allegiance and with prayers for our country and our troops! Back
then, no newspaper would have dared point out certain weak spots in our
cities where bombs could be set off to cause the maximum damage. No
newspaper would have dared complain about what we were doing to catch spies.
A newspaper would have been laughed out of existence if it had complained
that German or Japanese soldiers were being 'tortured' by being forced to
wear women's underwear, or subjected to interrogation by a woman, or being
scared by a dog or did not have air conditioning. There were a lot of
things different back then. We were not subjected to a constant bombardment
of pornography, perversion and promiscuity in movies or on radio. We did
not have legions of crack heads, dope pushers and armed gangs roaming our
streets.

No, President Bush did not make a mistake in his handling of terrorism. He
made the mistake of believing that we still had the courage and fortitude of
our fathers. He believed that this was still the country that our fathers
fought so dearly to preserve.

It is not the same country. It is now a cross between Sodom and Gomorra and
the Land of Oz. We did unite for a short while after 9/11; but our attitude
changed when we found out that defending our country would require some
sacrifices.

We are in great danger. The terrorists are fanatic Muslims. They believe
that it is okay, even their duty, to kill anyone who will not convert to
Islam. It has been estimated that about one-third or over three hundred
million Muslims are sympathetic to the terrorists' cause. Hitler and Tojo
combined did not have nearly that many potential recruits. So . . . We
either win it—or lose it—and you ain't gonna like losing.

America is not at war. The military is at war.

America is at the mall, or watching movies.

(Remember Obama said in his book *Audacity of Hope*, "I will stand with the
Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction." What better
place for the Muslims to control our country, than in the office of the
President of the United States of America! Friends, if we don't have a
president who will stand forever with Israel—God's chosen people—then we
don't want that president.) If ever an e-mail needed to be forwarded, now
is the time. Ask God to watch over us this election day. Please pray about
all of this.

Remember: Pray, Vote, Pray.

The Bible tells us any nation that turns their back on Israel will
fall. Those
that did, have fallen.

OK, some Humor for the Right Wingers

>From the MANITOBA HERALD, Canada (a very underground paper):
The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration.

The possibility of a McCain/Palin election is prompting the exodus among left-leaning citizens who fear they'll soon be required to hunt, pray, and agree with Bill O'Reilly. Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, animal rights activists and Unitarians crossing their fields at night.

I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage bor ders North Dakota. The producer was cold, exhausted and hungry. "He asked me if I could spare a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn't have any, he left. Didn't even get a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?"

In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. So he tried installing speakers that blare Rush Limbaugh across the fields. "Not real effective," he said. "The liberals still got through, and Rush annoyed the cows so much they wouldn't give milk.

"Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals near the Canadian border, pack them into Volvo station wagons, drive them across the border and leave them to fend for themselves.

"A lot of these people are not prepared for rugged conditions," an Ontario border patrolman said. "I found one carload without a drop of drinking water. "They did have a nice little Napa Valley cabernet, though."

When liberals are caught, they're sent back across the border, often wailing loudly that they fear retribution from conservatives.Rumors have been circulating about the McCain administration establishing re-education camps in which liberals will be forced to shoot wolves from airplanes, deny evolution, and act out drills preparing them for the Rapture. In recent days, liberals have turned to sometimes-ingenious ways of crossing the border.

Some have taken to posing as senior citizens on bus trips to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half-dozen young vegans disguised in powdered wigs, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior-citizen p assengers on Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney hits to prove they were alive in the '50s.

"If they can't identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we get suspicious about their age," an official said. Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage and renting all the good Susan Sarandon movies.

"I feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can't support them," an Ottawa resident said."How many art-history and English majors does one country need?"

Who Are The Women - Please Stand Up

Response to Gloria Steinem By Roni Bell Sylvester 9/11/08
Yes Gloria, you are succinct and intelligent. Most ideologues are. What you say though, is so disconnected from ladies like Sarah Palin that I wonder out loud if we are indeed both of the female gender and live in the same America.

Women including you, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein and Arianna Huffington, exclude ladies including Sarah Palin and those posting on www.GetterDoneGals.Blogspot.com from their defined world of women.

Because you don't know us?Some philosophers tend to ignore our female segment of society too. I've never figured out if their exclusion of us is born out of deliberation, arrogance or stupidity. To help better know the rest of us gals, please study my introduction of the Sarah Palin-getter- done-type-gals in America.

Getter Done Gals come mostly from backgrounds closely connected to ranching, farming, fishing, logging and fuel production. In other words, they're the gals who provide the food we eat, fiber we use to clothe ourselves, and fuel that serves a myriad of purposes.

The two main elements most resource providers are forced to deal with on a minute by minute basis are: Mother Nature and their city, county, state, and federal governments, and foreign control agents including environmental, European Union and North America Union. One oft times hears non-resource providers describe these ladies in phrases including: "Walk like they're kicking s_ _ t off their shoes; hicks; clodhoppers; rednecks; hayseeds; unsophisticated; back-woods; cowboy; Walmart groupies; animal killing pistol packing mammas.

"In a single day it's common for us to: Cook for 50 wranglers, pull a calf, shoot a coyote, drive the not so glamourous farm truck miles into town to get parts-meet with the banker-get medicine for the horses and husband, teach a child another piano lesson and more manners, counsel a neighbor whose spouse got killed in a machinery accident, and rope and doctor a sick steer all while keeping coffee and prayers perking. We don't have the luxury of being rigidly stuck in some partisan feminist ideology.

Their livelihood and your food supply depends on an amazing flexibility - necessary to swiftly change course according to what Mother Nature or the many governments throw their way. Mother Nature and the charging bull care not about feelings, nor do they apologize for flooding out the corn field or snapping your leg in half.We love being parents.

We recognize it's an honorable undertaking and assume the responsibilities that go with it. We know the difference between "wanting" and "needing" something. And with our own hard-earned dollar, we pay for our wants and needs. For example, if we want a dog, we know full well what we're getting into before bringing one home. This is in stark contrast to the women who want such as prairie rats, feral horses and wolves, but expect...no demand...that we take full care of them.

Yes, far too often, the wants of other woman takes away from critical things we need to do. Gloria, you publically pound the hammer of reproductive freedom. Good God you make it sound as though any woman who gets pregnant is automatically a victim in need of government aid.

To affirmatively empower a woman, you teach your little girl the value of saying NO until she's first done these things and in this order: Get an education. Get a job. Get married to a gentleman who has an education and is employed. Then have a baby. A woman really does have the power. The power to say NO. Then they have the power to teach their little girl to respect herself and little boys, and teach her little boy how to respect himself and little girls.

We recognize life throws us extenuating circumstances. It's just that we'd rather the government not add to those extenuating circumstances with their choking controls, regs, restrictions and scoldings from socialists. We believe in order for this country to get healthy, we must educate every child on the importance of being engaged, active parents, and maintaining sturdy families.

You will find some of the last reservoirs of strong, healthy families in rural communities where we embrace matriarchies. Something that you could focus on is protecting these great families. We do our own homework, and find out the truth and facts on stuff like the global warming myth. We refuse to worship false religions like the Religion of Eco-fascism or false gods like Al Gore.

We've requested debate on matters like the global warming myth, but Mr. Gore informs us that his word is the last! From 1st grade on, schools should teach the honest economics of having a child. That would be a non-emotional, more effective way to deter unplanned pregnancies than sex education. I guarantee that!

Instead of providing condoms, schools should bring back the absolute of, "you break it, you pay for it!"It was appalling to read AP reports shouting, "Sarah Palin's 17 year old daughter has an unwanted pregnancy." Unwanted? No. Unplanned?

Yes.Surely you're smart enough not to believe anything AP reporters conjure these days. Like Move-on.org and Daily Kos they are rarely accurate and as useless as tits on a boar. The feminist movement in their zeal to banish her from the community is about as forward-thinking as my community was 47 years back, when they removed a local minister when his 17 year old daughter got pregnant out of wedlock.

Although there's far more to say on this subject, let me just stop here by saying - we forgive you and other women who can't relate to us; for we alone are guilty of being too occupied feeding, clothing and sheltering you all, to grandstand our deeds.Wouldn't you agree that what America deserves to see, is a good old-fashioned duel between your troupe and Getter Done Gals like Harriet Hageman, Kimmi Lewis, Sarah Palin, Cory Rutledge, Rita Meyer and so on? Ladies Senator Salazar has never heard of.

PS For your convenience - Steinem's column follows.

Palin: wrong woman, wrong message Sarah Palin shares nothing but a chromosome with Hillary Clinton.

She is Phyllis Schlafly, only younger. By Gloria Steinem> September 4, 2008: Here's the good news: Women have become so politically powerful that> even the anti-feminist right wing -- the folks with a headlock on the Republican Party -- are trying to appease the gender gap with a> first-ever female vice president.

We owe this to women -- and to many> men too -- who have picketed, gone on hunger strikes or confronted> violence at the polls so women can vote.

We owe it to Shirley Chisholm,> who first took the "white-male-only" sign off the White House, and to> Hillary Rodham Clinton, who hung in there through ridicule and misogyny> to win 18 million votes.> >

But here is even better news: It won't work. This isn't the first time a> boss has picked an unqualified woman just because she agrees with him> and opposes everything most other women want and need.

Feminism has> never been about getting a job for one woman. It's about making life> more fair for women everywhere. It's not about a piece of the existing> pie; there are too many of us for that. It's about baking a new pie.> >

Selecting Sarah Palin, who was touted all summer by Rush Limbaugh, is no> way to attract most women, including die-hard Clinton supporters. Palin> shares nothing but a chromosome with Clinton.

Her down-home, divisive> and deceptive speech did nothing to cosmeticize a Republican convention> that has more than twice as many male delegates as female, a> presidential candidate who is owned and operated by the right wing and a> platform that opposes pretty much everything Clinton's candidacy stood for -- and that Barack Obama's still does.

To vote in protest for> McCain/Palin would be like saying, "Somebody stole my shoes, so I'll> amputate my legs."> > This is not to beat up on Palin. I defend her right to be wrong, even on> issues that matter most to me. I regret that people say she can't do the> job because she has children in need of care, especially if they> wouldn't say the same about a father.

I get no pleasure from imagining> her in the spotlight on national and foreign policy issues about which> she has zero background, with one month to learn to compete with Sen.> Joe Biden's 37 years' experience.> > Palin has been honest about what she doesn't know.

When asked last month> about the vice presidency, she said, "I still can't answer that question> until someone answers for me: What is it exactly that the VP does every> day?" When asked about Iraq, she said, "I haven't really focused much on> the war in Iraq." She was elected governor largely because the incumbent was unpopular, and she's won over Alaskans mostly by using unprecedented oil wealth to> give a $1,200 reba te to every resident.

Now she is being praised by McCain's campaign as a tax cutter, despite the fact that Alaska has no> state income or sales tax. Perhaps McCain has opposed affirmative action for so long that he doesn't know it's about inviting more people to meet> standards, not lowering them. Or perhaps McCain is following the Bush administration habit, as in the Justice Department, of putting a job candidate's views on "God, guns and gays" ahead of competence.

The difference is that McCain is filling a job one 72-year-old heartbeat away from the presidency. So let's be clear: The culprit is John McCain. He may have chosen Palin out of change-envy, or a belief that women can't tell the difference between form and content, but the main motive was to please right-wing ideologues; the same ones who nixed anyone who is now or ever has been a supporter of reproductive freedom.

If that were not the case, McCain could have chosen a woman who knows what a vice president does and who> has thought about Iraq; someone like Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison or Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine. McCain could have taken a baby step away> from right-wing patriarchs who determine his actions, right down to> opposing the Violence Against Women Act.

Palin's value to those patriarchs is clear: She opposes just about every issue that women support by a majority or plurality. She believes that creationism should be taught in public schools but disbelieves global warming; she opposes gun control but supports government control of women's wombs; she opposes stem cell research but approves "abstinence-only" programs, which increase unwanted births, sexually transmitted diseases and abortions; she tried to use taxpayers' millions for a state program to shoot wolves from the air but didn't spend enough money to fix a state school system with the lowest high-school graduation rate in the nation; she runs with a candidate who oppos es the Fair Pay Act but supports $500 million in subsidies for a natural gas pipeline across Alaska; she supports drilling in the Arctic National> Wildlife Reserve, though even McCain has opted for the lesser evil of offshore drilling. She is Phyllis Schlafly, only younger.

I don't doubt her sincerity. As a lifetime member of the National Rifle Assn., she doesn't just support killing animals from helicopters, she> does it herself. She doesn't just talk about increasing the use of fossil fuels but puts a coal-burning power plant in her own small town. She doesn't just echo McCain's pledge to criminalize abortion by overturning Roe vs. Wade, she says that if one of her daughters were impregnated by rape or incest, she should bear the child.

She not only opposes reproductive freedom as a human right but implies that it dictates abortion, without saying that it also protects the right to have a child. So far, the major new Mc Cain supporter that Palin has attracted is James Dobson of Focus on the Family.

Of course, for Dobson, "women are merely waiting for their husbands to assume leadership," so he may be voting for Palin's husband. Being a hope-a-holic, however, I can see two long-term bipartisan gains from this contest.

Republicans may learn they can't appeal to right-wing patriarchs and most women at the same time. A loss in November could cause the centrist majority of Republicans to take back their party, which was the first to support the Equal Rights Amendment and should be the last to want to invite government into the wombs of women. And American women, who suffer more because of having two full-time jobs than from any other single injustice, finally have support on a national stage from male leaders who know that women can't be equal outside the home until men are equal in it .

Barack Obama and Joe Biden are campaigning on their belief that men should be, can be and want to be at home for their children. This could be huge Gloria Steinem is an author, feminist organizer and co-founder of the Women's Media Center. She supported Hillary Clinton and is now supporting Barack Obama.

Why I Do Not Watch ABC

I try not to watch any of the major networks anymore and this is one of the reason. This is old news but a couple folks sent it to me as if it was new info. This dates back to 9-11 days

Do not be shocked it is what our Media is all about... Do not want to offend anyone, well they offened me...

> ABC News Bans Flag Lapel Pins
> The brass at ABC News issued orders forbidding reporters to
> wear lapel pin American flags or other patriotic insignia.

Their reasoning was that ABC should remain neutral about 'causes'.
> Since when is support for preventing our death & destruction some sort
> of a cause?

Since when is patriotism to be discouraged. I urge you to boycott ABC and its sponsors and affiliates.

> We are slowly losing everything our country stands for, and everything our men and women fought and died to preserve.

A Step By Step View of The Credit Issue

The thing that chaps me most is the the facts in all this just can't seem to get to the surface.. Many of us saw the problem building. There was a time with the media would have very much enjoyed digging such issues out and report them first, but not any more. Journalism is just about dead now it is all politics. How can we write articles that promotes the left over the right. Even a few that go right to left but very few

Well if you would take a few minutes and watch the video on this link.

Fact are Facts

Middle Class you are going to pay your share of this debt... Income redistribution ...
$ 700,000,000,000, so that people who can not afford a home can buy one. Now you and I pay the tab... If that does not upset you then we derserve what we are getting. I am however upset that the Republicans controlled both the houses and the White House and did not take this issue to task and fix it. They knew it was coming heck a few even tried to bring it to light. They waited until the Demo's got control of the congress then several tried to do something but it was too late. (The power of controling congress is they decide what get to the floor) Yes, it would have been unpopular but being the head of the greatest nation on earth requires some effort.

I say fire the whole DC gang and put in some new blood. We do need change and now. It you have not listened to Congress talk about this issue do not. It will make you very ill. One after another of the Democratic as late as last year were saying there is not problem, it is just those right wing Republicans who want to keep the poor poor. B S is was about saving our finance system.. Shame on the whole lot in DC

Vote them Out...

I Could Not Believe What I Saw

Yesterday October 1 ... Raleigh NC State Fair Grounds

I went out to the Fair Grounds to check on the Lions Club Booth at about 10 AM... Traffic was not moving... Police were directing traffic ... Cars were everywhere..,

I was trying to figure out what was going on. Thee was nothing on the bill board about any event, I had not read anything, it was not on TV or the radio. What is the world could it be.

Buses full of people several hundred cars parked everywhere????

Well when I finally got inside the grounds I had another surprize. Was I in America or had somehow I been picked up and dropped in a Muslim country. To my surprize and amazement I was now among several thousand Muslim dressed people from kids to seniors. What could be going on. Whites, Blacks, and literaly thousands of people dressed in every Islamic costume you can imagine.

Was it a political event, was OH Bama here? Surely they had not invited Mc Cain or Palin to come and speak to them. What in the world... How could so many people assemble and not one word of this be on the media I kept asking myself. I mean let 20 people go to central prison to burn a candle to protest the execution of a murderer and every network is there, and why not here. This is right down the networks key issues to blast into our homes.

I tried to ask some of the people there what was going on and most just walked by and would not talk to me. Guess without a beard, robe or a turbin they assumed I could not understand them.

I can tell for sure, if you had want a taxie you had a problem... all the drivers and cars were at this event. I waited to hear on TV something about it still nothing.

Folks let me tell you. This will cause you to take a step back and ask yourself. Am I still in the US.

This is one small US City. I had to sit down and open my mind, yes I know it is a bit closed,
to imagine if this went on in every city in the US on Oct 1 and without any communication from the normal channels... Well for sure they are more committed to thier cause than the average American is that is for sure.

I did finally get one young lady to take to me.... She by the way was a white girl who had converted to the Islamic life. I asked her why she choose this religion and she said, is was a religion that believed in peace and love... My mouth dropped and I asked her about the suicide bombers that we see on TV who go into market areas and kill innocent people in the name of ALLAH... she said oh these are radicals who really do not understand the true meaning of Islam.
I asked her why so many had turned out today and she smiled and told me it was a special prayer day. I asked her did they pray for peace and talk about these radicals... she said no it was more about specials prays for Allah.

Honest this yound lady was so full of Allah that she could have easly been convienced to do anything they wanted in the name of Allah

Me, I am just in shock... God help us when the radicals decide to call these folks to task and they will, it is how they work. Read my earlier posted back several months ago which shows how things change as the % of Muslims grows... It is how it worked in Europe and other countries and it is headed to our America...

Old Bill Gates Quotes Still Valid

Love him or not, Bill Gates hit the nail on the head with this speech he gave at a high school recently. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality, and how it set them up for failure in the real world.

RULE 1: Life is not fair. Get used to it!

RULE 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

RULE 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice president with a car phone until you earn both.

RULE 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

RULE 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping; they called it opportunity.

RULE 6: If you mess up, it's not your parent's fault, so don't whine about your mistakes. Learn from them.

RULE 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So, before you save the rainforest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

RULE 8: Your school has done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear any resemblance to anything in real life.

RULE 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.

RULE 10: TV is NOT real life. In real life, people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

RULE 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

IF YOU AGREE, PASS IT ON.
IF YOU CAN READ THIS, THANK A TEACHER!
IF YOU CAN READ THIS IN ENGLISH, THANK A SOLDIER!

TAXES Cut and Dried - Who Pays Them Today

Paul: as Mark Twain is supposed to have said, I am sorry this is so long. I did not have time to make it shorter than 269 words.

Current discussions about whether to raise taxes on the “rich” lack context and are being held in a vacuum. More than what? Up from where? Filing income taxes is complicated, but figuring out who pays them is not. Here are some basic facts, all of which are easily available on the internet from government reports.

In 2007, the federal government collected about $2.6 trillion (that’s 26 followed by 11 zeros). About $1.16 trillion of this came from income taxes. The remainder came from social security ($869 B) [not saved for your retirement but immediately “loaned” to the government], corporate ($370 B), excise and other taxes ($165 B).[1]

In 2006, the top 1% of tax return filers[2] (about 1 million filers) paid about 40% of these taxes – an average of $340,000.

The next 11%[3] (15 million filers) paid about 34% - an average of $26,000.

The next 38% (50 million) paid 23% - an average of $5000.

The next 50% (70 million) paid 3% - an average of $500.[4]

1/3 of all filers paid no income tax at all.

12% now pay 74% of all income taxes; 10 years ago, the same 12% paid about 64%. 50% now pay $500 or less; 10 years ago, it was 45%. 33% now pay nothing; 10 years ago, it was 25%.

Can the rich afford it? Sure. They won’t starve. A better question is: Should 1 million people pay $340,000 while 70 million people pay less than $500? If we are trying to accomplish wealth redistribution, let’s just do it and forget the income tax. There are much simpler ways to do it.

A Lesson To Us All

This is the most simple, most understandable and truest explanation of the woes of the nation and who caused them, as well as how to cure them. Well written and well put!.

This should be sent to every person in the U.S., including the '545' People highlighted in this article.

'545' People By Charlie Reese -- former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered why, IF both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered why, IF all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does.
You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don't control monetary policy; The Federal Reserve Bank was given permission by Congress to do this.

100 Senators, 435 congressmen, 1 President and 9 Supreme Court Justices - 545 People out of the 300 million - are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress.

In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered but private central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority.

They have no ability to coerce a senator, a Congressman or a president to do one 'cotton-picking' thing.

I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 People spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con, regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall.

No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.

The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.

Who is the speaker of the House? She is the leader of the majority party.

She and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want.

If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 People who stand convicted-- by present facts - of incompetence and irresponsibility.

I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 People.

When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 People exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because these 545 People want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because these 545 People want it in the red.
If the Marines are in IRAQ, it's because these 545 People want them in IRAQ.
If these 545 People do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because these 545 People want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 People shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.

Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like 'the economy,' 'inflation' or 'politics' that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 People and these 545 People alone are responsible.

They and they alone, have the power.

They and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses - provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess and regain control of our government!

My Son Asked? Does This Worry Anyone?

What worries me most is who in the White House to deal with the like of Putin, Chavez, the Nut from Iran as well as all the middle eastern learders... That keeps me awake at night... 60 more days and then I hope I can sleep well...

NOVO-OGARYOVO, Russia (AP) - Prime Minister Vladimir Putin vowed Thursday to make relations with Latin America a top foreign policy priority, a pledge backed by the first Russian naval deployment to the Caribbean since the Cold War.

Putin greeted Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, on his second trip to Russia in just over two months, with offers to discuss further arms sales to Venezuela and possibly helping it to develop nuclear energy.

Chavez's visit takes place as a Russian naval squadron sails to Venezuela, across the Caribbean Sea from the United States, in a pointed response to what the Kremlin has cast as threatening U.S. encroachment near its own borders.

Both men suggested their countries are working to decrease U.S. global influence.
"Latin America is becoming a noticeable link in the chain of the multi-polar world that is forming," Putin said at his suburban residence at the start of his talks with Chavez. "We will pay more and more attention to this vector of our economic and foreign policy."

Putin did not mention any specifics of potential Russian-Venezuelan military cooperation in his opening remarks, but Russian news reports said that Venezuela could buy Russian air defense missiles and more Sukhoi fighter jets.

Earlier Thursday, a Kremlin official who spoke on customary condition of anonymity said that Russia would grant Venezuela a $1 billion credit for the purchase of Russian weaponry in an effort to help Venezuela revamp its military forces.

Russia has signed contracts worth more than $4.4 billion with Venezuela since 2005 to supply arms including fighter jets, helicopters, and 100,000 Kalashnikov assault rifles.
Putin did not specify what kind of cooperation Russia could offer Venezuela in the nuclear field, but Russia is aggressively promoting itself as a builder of nuclear power plants and supplier of fuel to nations seeking nuclear energy.

Chavez, who addressed Putin as "my dear friend Vladimir," said that stronger ties with Russia would help build a multi-polar world—a term Russia and Venezuela use to describe their shared opposition to the perceived U.S. global domination.

"I think that today more than ever before what you have said about a multi-polar world is becoming reality," Chavez told Putin. He said he brought greetings from Cuban leader Fidel Castro, another staunch U.S. enemy.

Both leaders have used criticism of the U.S. to boost their popularity at home and advance foreign policy objectives.

Russia is the latest leg in a tour taking Chavez to a number of nations whose governments are eager to counter U.S. global clout. He stopped briefly in Cuba on his way to China, where he touted agreements to increase oil exports and purchase military jets.
Signaling similar interests in Russia, Chavez said he and President Dmitry Medvedev will observe military exercises when they meet Friday in the southern Orenburg region. The region near Kazakhstan's border is home to oil industry facilities.

In an interview broadcast on Russian television before the visit, Chavez said that Venezuela and Latin America as a whole need "friends like Russia" to help them shed U.S. "domination" and ensure peace.

Russia has ramped up its cooperation with Caracas further since last month's war with Georgia, which has badly damaged Moscow's already strained ties with the West and particularly the United States.

Russia's deployment of warships to Venezuela for naval maneuvers came after the United States used naval ships to ferry aid to Georgia after the war—a mission Russian officials harshly criticized.

The Russian naval deployment follows a weeklong visit to Venezuela by a pair of Russian strategic bombers. On his Sunday TV and radio program, Chavez joked that he would be making his international tour aboard the "super-bombers that Medvedev loaned me."

Chavez has also talked about creating "a new strategic energy alliance" with between the oil-rich nations.

After visiting Venezuela this month, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin said five major Russian oil companies are looking to form a consortium to increase Latin American operations and to build a $6.5 billion refinery to process Venezuelan crude.

Putin said that Russia's Gazprom state natural gas giant will launch its first drilling rig next month to tap Venezuela's offshore gas reserves. Copyright 2008 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
