The actions of our "government" in Washington, DC over the last year are scary. But none so definitive in this regard as those that occurred yesterday in Congress. I am "riled" as I am quite certain you are. In front of our eyes... a "bloodless coup" has been implemented, in a brazenly arrogant and unconstitutional manner. It is now up to the courts, and us, to provide the opposition. "European-style" Marxism is our future unless vigorously rejected. Are we, the American people, up to the task of taking back our country from Progressive zealots? "I WILL NOT COMPLY" has to be our response, and "I WILL REMOVE YOU FROM OFFICE" our task.

I recently read the following paragraph from the Declaration of Independence. It may be even more appropriate than we realize, especially the 2nd sentence.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new guards for their future security"

Thoughts to ponder as we engage our minds to combat the Progressive ideology whose tentacles are waving wildly in our direction.

We would be amiss if we did not acknowledge the role this president (small "p") is playing in the desecration of this sacred document. To do so.. let's award him a fitting title... something in line with those who have preceded him, and whose antics he embodies... like "Ivan the Terrible." In light of this precedent, let us bestow upon this self-styled dictator the very appropriate and alliterative title... "Obama the Bastard."

In support of this distinctive moniker in an academic context, I offer excerpts from The American Heritage Dictionary definition of bastard -- "Not genuine, spurious. 4. Resembling a known kind or species but not truly such." "To debase; corrupt" is to bastardize, which is exactly what he is doing to the office of the US Presidency. Seems to apply rather well in this case!

God bless this country... without it our God-given right to liberty is doomed to reside in the trash-heap of history, to be rewritten by the liberal academics that write such things!
