One Persons View

Well I guess I have to wade in on this as well. Really does not matter about Democratic or Republican actually

Sorry to inform you that but the last group we want running any things is the US Government. If you can give me one example where the government can take our tax dollars and spend them effectively please share it with us. US Postal service- totally bankrupt, Social Security bankrupt, Medicare Bankrupt, FannyMay and FannyMac led us into the housing market meltdown – all because they were run and controlled by the government .

In fact a good example in 2003 when then President Bush sent a message to mr. Barney Frank and congress, due to the lending rules on housing, there was trouble coming with the housing market Mr Frank said and I quote, “ There is nothing wrong with the housing market, there is no indication that we have any problem with how either Fanny May or Fanny Mac are operating”. Not a problem… anyone could buy a house, income was not an issue, down payment not an issue just let them have the loan… everyone deserves to own a home the federal government will guarantee it…. And Just where does the money come from to guarantee those loans… yup… the good ol’ tax paying public. Strange when I bought our house I had to show IRS filings for past 3 years, had to show my current payments / expenses but heck back then congress had not decided that everyone should own a home regardless of their ability to pay. Please understand the laws of economics are much like other laws of nature they do not change. What happened 4 years later ... that is right the law of economics prevailed and they always will..

Today the average income of federal employee is above that of the private sector and their health care and retirement plans are better now does that make sense. When was the last time you heard of a big layoff in public service jobs when the economy turns down. Like today…. We have a few million folks out of work… want to guess how many of those are from the public sector. We have got to change the way state and federal work force are managed.

I am not so opposed to the universal heath care and agree that something has to be done but not under the governments control and not in the manner in which it was done.

Taking care of the powerless has worked real well. We have more people on welfare today than ever before. We incentivize women to not get married, to have kids out of wedlock so they can get on the US payrole. The entire entitlement system is a joke. Our tax dollars are being used to incentivize folks to never ever try and get a job. Yes, we incentivize them to go to college but after that it is in their best interest to have a couple kids and not have a man in the house and get in the line for handouts. If you do not believe this then you need to take a couple days and study the programs that we have out there.

Anyway this is not a Democratic or Republican issue… It is a problem that we as Americans had best get under control and real quick. In 10 years at the current rate our national debt will be 90 % of our GNP and that will end our way of life as we now know it.
Last week when we attempted to sell bonds the world market did not snatch them up as they have in the past. When that happens we have to raise the interest rate that we pay. Next month the same will happen again. This will continue because the countries that have the cash will simply force it to happen. We are no longer the nation in power. We are fast becoming a nation on the verge of bankruptcy… when folks stop buying our bonds and that will happen then the only option is to reduce spending, cut expenses like government services, welfare, health coverage, social security payments not a pretty forecast. In a time of economic downturn we are doing the exact opposite of what has to be done.

What we have to realize is that the federal government is much like a company. When the economy turns down you either cutback your expenses or you go out of business. What the US government is doing today is just the opposite. We are spending more than we are taking in trying to spend our way out of a recession, just the opposite of what a company would be doing. Buying back all those homes that people bought that could not afford them so they will not lose them, extending unemployment benefits, creating new regulations that increase cost of business to operate are all driving the cost of doing business which then delays recovery. This can be compared to you and I running out of money so what do we do we go out and spend more or our credit cards and borrow more to make ends meet.. some day we have to simply let those who made bad decision take the hit. Nowhere, does it say that the government should protect folks who make bad economic decisions. Why should you and I as a tax payer have to see our tax dollars go to bail out someone who bought a house they could not afford in the first place.

Either we get our countries expenses in line or we are doomed. This is not rocket science…It is simple economics. You cannot spend more that we take in… Today we are doing the exact same thing that got us into the economic meltdown. The US is living on borrowed money. We are having to go the loan sharks “China and Russia” who are now controlling us because they are buying our bonds and we are indebted to them . All of this so we can protect folks who made very bad decision. Because we have an administration who thinks we can spend our way out of a recession… this is against all economic principals. This is truly what separates the Democratic and Republican ideas today. Taking tax dollars and redistributing them to others does not create wealth it does just the opposite.

Anyway Republican or Democrat we are just about up s_ _ _ Creek in debt. I truly hate to see what we are leaving behind for the next generations to live with.

I offer this as trying to bridge the gulf of miss understanding. This is not about Dem or Rep it is about trying to save our nation from the pit falls of economic misunderstanding. Our Constitution guarantees us the rite to pursue it does not guarantee to provide somewhere along the way we seem to have lost sight of this.

I do want to make it clear that I fully support helping those who are not able to help themselves. However to pay able bodied people to do nothing is not healthy for them or the country and today we somehow have drifted way too far in that direction.

God Bless America in our time of trouble.
