Still The Only Answer

A good friend wrote the below article this the morning after Nov 6, 2012... Worth the read...

I will add my thoughts as well:
God is the answer... we as a nation have turned away from God, he gives us that freedom... He is very clear what he expects of his people... For some 230 years he has given us his protection and blessing and for the majority of the people we were a Christian nation.   Howeve, in the past 25 year or so we have drifted away from God and his teachings.   Now we go our own way, ignore his teachings, abandon his churches and "do our own thing".

Take a look at what happened to his chosen people, he let them wander the wilderness and worship their false Gods, say what you want but we are doing it today.

Our youth under age 25, for the most part, have no clue about moral teachings, do not attend church and for sure do not have God in their lives.  The sad part for me, is that our youth will be the ones who suffer as our nation heads toward socialism and the fate that has spread across Europe.   God is a loving God but he is also a jealous God.  His wrath, shown through out the bible, is something to be feared.

I am sad for my Children and Grand Children, we have allowed the American Dream to be killed and that indeed is a tragedy.

The Christian people in this nation must stand up and take action if we are to return this nation to its greatness.  This can not happen quickly, it will take decades but we must not wait and we must not falter.   The next 4 years we must work to reshape the conservative party... The Republican Party is out of touch with reality.  It must change and recognize that the nation has changed or the Socialist Movement will forever rule our nation.

That would be tragic for the US and the World.  Like it or not there must be one great nation who keep the world balance, if not us then Russia, China or the Muslim nations will assume the role... think about those options for a moment.
This is real and it is happening today.

"Evening in America"
Well, here we are on the day after -  Barack Obama has been reelected President of the United States. Mitt Romney, a truly impressive and good man, will not be our 45th President. Logic has been upended.
The results of this presidential election is totally illogical. Don't even try to make sense of it.  It seemed totally logical that this man could not be reelected, not with his record. The obstacles appeared insurmountable. I'll list a few of them.
1. An economic recession with unemployment at historic levels with marginal or no recovery in sight - 2. Fuel prices are at historically high levels and expected to continue rising under the current government policy limiting oil exploration and approval of pipeline infrastructure - 3. Giant military budget cuts  that will affect preparedness, not to even mention the economic effects in areas where large military facilities are located -4. A blatant and incomprehensible assault on religious values with rulings forcing religious institutions to efface their religious beliefs - 5. Supporting gay marriage - 6. Forcing a massive health-care industry takeover that a large percentage of the population doesn't want - 7. A coordinated administration coverup of a terrorist attack on a U.S. embassy that resulted in the murders of four U.S. citizens - 8. An offhanded and scary comment made by Obama to Russian officials, not meant to be overheard but caught when a mic was left on, indicating he would be easier to work with "after the election" - 9.  Obama's inclination to apologize for the U.S. - 10. Insulting our allies - etc., etc., etc. The list of failures and anti-American gestures is well known and extensive.
Obviously by all logical and/or traditional measurements, the Obama administration is a glaring failure. But - over half the American people voted to reelect him.  So, bear with me while I try to understand this!
Conservative talk radio hosts, including Rush Limbaugh, observed before the election that the Democratic party was directing their reelection message to the truly ignorant among us, to the morons. That was funny at first, simply because it was inconceivable that a major U.S. political party would engage in such an illogical political strategy. Barack Obama couldn't seriously be running on a platform so vacuous, so completely devoid of substance? Did he want to be reelected? Obama and the Democrats, instead of defining any policy initiatives, were making juvenile utterances like… "Republicans are against clean air and water; they want to take away your right to choose (an abortion;) they want to put black people back in chains;  you didn't build that' implying government is responsible for your success and not your hard work; Obama incredulously stressed his 'honesty' in a nihilistic 'in your face' moment in a campaign ad appearing right after he blatantly lied about the Benghazi, Libya terrorist bombing. Now let's be frank here - anyone with a tincture of intellect and a dab of  knowledge could see right through this obnoxious, truth-starved posturing. Right?  Well, the answer is surprising, even embarrassing. It's also obvious.  Barack Obama was reelected President of the most powerful nation on earth - by his targeted demographic - the truly uninformed - the ignorant among us. Yes!  I reluctantly submit for your consideration this mostly obvious conclusion...  the morons reelected their man. Put another way -- the morons have it!  They have assumed the position of the majority in the greatest nation on earth. Sort of oxymoronic, and definitely tragic.
Tell me how?  How did the greatest nation on the face of this earth - the nation that literally saved civilization in World War II - a nation which virtually defined 'technological advancement' - a nation truly blessed by God. How did we evolve into a nation of the walking dead? How is it that a majority of our population are truly ignorant - about current events - about our constitution - about what makes us different from other nations - about what makes us great, or rather what made us great?  Let's postulate for a moment - for the farmers among us, let's ruminate. What is the source of some of the truly illogical "beliefs" that permeate our popular culture and have been adopted as a political platform by the left. Beliefs that are the "religion" of the left, and apparently, the marching beat of the majority. How did we become a nation of morons?  In case you're a bit apprehensive using the term - lets be a bit more genteel -  and use the word "uneducated."
Consider this question. What must happen for the United States of America to survive as that "last best hope of man on earth?"
The answer? Freedom is the first thing you'll think of. Freedom from tyranny. Freedom from government control. Look around you. Free countries or free peoples prosper to the extent they're free, and the despotic ones don't. Freedom to engage in commerce uninhibited to the extent possible from government is mandatory for prosperity to extend beyond the ruling class. Free enterprise, or capitalism, is the only economic system providing the freedom to prosper, or to fail.
The second thing on this short list - and may I suggest the most important - is KNOWLEDGE.  Why?  Because freedom cannot exist without the knowledge to sustain it.
Now, I'm sure you're getting the idea of where I'm going with this. Education is the ship that keeps our country afloat - or sinks it.
In 1782 Thomas Jefferson said in his Notes on the State of Virginia... "Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves, therefore, are its only safe depositories. And to render them safe, their minds must be improved to a certain degree."
And on January 6th, 1816 Jefferson said ... "If a nation expects to be ignorant & free, in a state of civilisation, it expects what never was & never will be."
On March 27, 1824, Jefferson said... "The qualifications for self-government in society are not innate. They are the result of habit and long training."
And this quote from John Adams... “Children should be educated and instructed in the principles of freedom.”
This from The Nebraska State Education Association... "An educated population is the cornerstone of democracy. This nation's well-being depends on the decisions of its educated, informed citizens."
I'll leave you with these questions. Do we have an educational system in this country that positively reinforces the founding ideals of this great exercise in economic, religious and individual freedom? Or,  do we have an educational system that is undermining those basic tenets?
The inimitable Ronald Reagan put it this way in a 1964 speech... "You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness."
