What is the Value of Human Life

“I've noticed everyone who is for abortion has already been born.”

Appeared in: The Human Life Review Spring 1983
Every legislator, every doctor, and every citizen needs to recognize that the real issue is whether to affirm and protect the sanctity of all human life, or to embrace a social ethic where some human lives are valued and others are not. As a nation, we must choose between the sanctity of life ethic and the "quality of life" ethic.
The real question today is not when human life begins, but, What is the value of human life? The abortionist who reassembles the arms and legs of a tiny baby to make sure all its parts have been torn from its mother's body can hardly doubt whether it is a human being. The real question for him and for all of us is whether that tiny human life has a God-given right to be protected by the law -- the same right we have.
I have often said that when we talk about abortion, we are talking about two lives -- the life of the mother and the life of the unborn child. Why else do we call a pregnant woman a mother? I have also said that anyone who doesn't feel sure whether we are talking about a second human life should clearly give life the benefit of the doubt. If you don't know whether a body is alive or dead, you would never bury it. I think this consideration itself should be enough for all of us to insist on protecting the unborn.
A Senate committee hearing was held recently to determine, if we can, when life actually begins. And there was exhaustive testimony of experts presenting both views, and finally the result was declared inconclusive. They couldn't arrive at an answer. Well, in my view alone, they did arrive at an answer, an answer that justifies the proposed (human life) legislation. If it's true we don't know when the unborn becomes a human life, then we have to opt in favor that it is a human life until someone proves it isn't.
Remarks at the Centennial Meeting of the Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus Hartford, CT 8/3/82
And I just happen to believe that simple morality dictates that unless and until someone can prove the unborn human is not alive, we must give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it is. And thus, it should be entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Remarks at the Alfred M. Landon Lecture Series on Public Issues Manhattan, KS 9/9/82

---------------------------------
In many states there seems to be a conflict in beliefs... If a person kills a pregnant mother the killer can be charged with a double murder, yet the mother is allowed to kill the unborn and that is called abortion... Say just how does that make sense????

Something To Think About

Something to think about---

A little background investigation you might find enlightening.
The five worst mass killings have a common thread.
Hint #1: they don't belong to the NRA.

Ft  Hood~~~ Registered Democrat ~  Muslim

Columbine ~~~ Too young to vote;  both families were registered Democrats and progressive liberals

Virginia Tech ~~~ Wrote hate mail to President Bush and to his staff ~ Registered Democrat

Colorado Theater ~~~  Registered Democrat;  staff worker on the Obama campaign; Occupy Wall  Street participant; progressive liberal

Connecticut School Shooter- ~~~ Registered Democrat;  hated Christians.

Common thread is that all of these shooters were progressive liberal Democrats or came from families that are.

Also, of the worst killings in the last several decades, only one was a female, all the rest were boys, barely men, and none of them had a strong male father or role model in the household. Their role models were rappers, action movies, comics and violent video games.

Our problem isn't weapons, it's boys without boundaries who live in 'progressive' households.

Can One's Good Works Get Them Into Heaven

Query:  Would Lance Armstrong’s great charity work in cancer research overcome his lying and deceit so that he would get into heaven when he dies?
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Written by a lay minister who decided to provide a scriptural guide to allow one to answer the Query above  ....rrepp

Useful info that will help us deal with such issues... Please take time to read                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             1/2013

     The answer to this question is given from a Christian perspective with the Holy Bible as  the reference and basis, for only God and His Word can give us the direction we seek here.
With such a question, it is not intended that any opinion of the author should be included,    nor any comments relative to the fairness of the actions and results.

1)  Who controls the “keys” to heaven?
          God very clearly in His Word describes eternal life in heaven as a reward for those  who come to Him, accepting His offer and solution of the kingdom of heaven.

2) Who is God?
          God is the Triune God, (Father, Son, & Holy Spirit), self described in His inerrant Word, the Holy Bible.  He describes Himself as Creator, Redeemer, and Eternal King, and is almighty, all knowing, eternal, and sovereign over all things in earth and heaven.

3) How do we know about God?
          God, through His Holy Spirit, caused holy men of God to write the scriptures that became the Holy Bible, thus giving to mankind His revelation of Himself, His creation, including mankind, how we are to live, and how He loves us.  Coming from God Himself, this revelation in the Old & New Testaments is Self proclaimed to be the only source of Truth.  Indeed, Jesus, the Son, declares Himself as the “Way, the Truth, and the Life.”

4) Who is man?
          In the first book of Genesis in the Bible, we learn that God created man and woman in His own image, giving us free will and residence in paradise in His created garden.     Mankind had open access to God and sin did not exist.  Mankind was given authority over all other living beings by God.

5) What is sin?
          Sin is disobedience to God’s will for mankind.  The first sins were committed by Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden, when they obeyed Satan and ate fruit from the Tree of Life which was forbiden to them by God.  Since that first sin, all future generations became burdened by God with sin by birth, as a punishment of this disobedience.  Sin, being total darkness, cannot come into the presence of the Holy God who is light, perfect, and sinless.  Therefore, sin has been the source of separation of God and His created mankind.

6) What is God’s penalty for sin?
          God declares that the penalty for any sin is death, eternal death and separation       from God.  It is God’s way of always being apart from the direct presence of any sin.

7) What is God’s answer and solution to mankind for his sin and it’s consequences?
          In the Old Testament, God’s people brought numerous animal sacrifices to God’s altar so that the animal’s blood could substitute for their sins and God would forgive them.          But He also promised a Messiah who would come as a permanent sacrifice for man’s sins.  That Messiah, as prophesied in the Old Testament, came as a baby named Jesus nearly 2,000 years ago.  Jesus, the Son of God, and second part of the Triune God,                     lived the only perfect life on this earth and died on the cross as a permanent sacrifice           for all sins of mankind.

8) What can/must man do to gain God’s forgiveness, and enter into eternal life                             with God  in heaven?
          God offers man the gift of eternal life in heaven, if, and only if, we acknowledge our sinfulness before Him and accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord for what He did for us on the cross.  God sent His only Son to earth to live and to die, that through the sacrifice of Jesus and His blood, we would have eternal life in heaven with God - IF we believe in Him and accept Him as our Lord.  So God gives us His one and only means of entering into heaven as a gift, but we must accept the gift and Him.  God does not give us this gift based on any good works that we may do while on earth, or any goodness on our part.                 Entrance to heaven is given only on the basis of accepting and believing Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for our sins.

9) Answer to Original Query Relative to Lance Armstrong
          Therfore to answer the original query relative to Lance Armstrong’s acceptance into heaven when he dies, it would be based strictly and exclusively by God on Lance’s having acknowledged his sinfulness before God, asked for forgiveness of his sins by God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, and acknowledging his belief and faith in Jesus Christ alone as his Savior and Lord.   While having sinned because of his lies and deceit,   just as all of man sins since that original sin of Adam, all the many good actions by Lance to greatly help in cancer research for others do not meet God’s requirements for eternal life       in heaven.  God loves us and provides a way for our sins to be forgiven, but it is not through our efforts of goodness.  On the other hand, God does expect us to live in kindness and    with a giving heart to all, once we become His believing children.

10) Answer to the Query is the Same for All of Us
          This response not only applies to the query for Lance Armstrong,
but is relevant to all of us.

11) Case for Reading (A major life turnaround to a giving Christian)
          “Born Again”  by Chuck Colson

God Has It All Under Control - Trust and Know This

A friend sent this to me...This is awesome! How Great is our God!!!

 Our Creator and Redeemer . . . and do we THINK about it ??? God's accuracy may be observed in the hatching of eggs.. . . . .
For example:

-the eggs of the potato bug hatch in 7 days;
-those of the canary in 14 days;
-those of the barnyard hen in 21 days;
-The eggs of ducks and geese hatch in 28 days;
-those of the mallard in 35 days;
-The eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days.
(Notice, they are all divisible by seven, the number of days in a week!)

God's wisdom is seen in the making of an elephant.
 The four legs of this great beast all bend forward in the same direction. No other quadruped is so made. God planned that this animal would have a huge body, too large to live on two legs. For this reason He gave it four fulcrums so that it can rise rom the ground easily.

The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs first.
 A cow rises from the ground with its two hind legs first. How wise the Lord is in all His works of creation!

God's wisdom is revealed in
 His arrangement of sections and segments, as well as in the number of grains.

-Each watermelon has an even number of stripes on the rind.
-Each orange has an even number of segments.
-Each ear of corn has an even number of rows.
-Each stalk of wheat has an even number of grains.

-Every bunch of bananas has on its lowest row an even number of bananas, and each row decreases by one,
 so that one row has an even number and the next row an odd number.

-The waves of the sea roll in on shore twenty-six to the minute
 in all kinds of weather.

All grains are found in even numbers on the stalks,
 and the Lord specified thirty fold, sixty fold, and a hundred fold all even numbers.

God has caused the flowers to blossom at certain specified times during the day.
 Linnaeus, the great botanist, once said that if he had a conservatory containing the right kind of soil, moisture and temperature, he could tell the time of day or night by the flowers that were open and those that were closed!

The lives of each of you may be ordered by the Lord in a beautiful way
 for His glory, if you will only entrust Him with your life. If you try to regulate your own life, it will only be a mess and a failure. Only the One Who made the brain and the heart can successfully guide them to a profitable end.

Take a minute and just look around, the sun, the moon, our body all of these are so complicated and delicate... so complex.... so utterly fascinating that it unquestionable that God is behind it all.

I HOPE YOU FIND THIS AS FASCINATING AS I DID.
 May God Bless You In Ways You Never Even Dreamed Today! .

One last thought and reminder to us all...

With all the wrong things that we as a Nation are doing today, know that God has a plan for us as a person and as a nation.    Yes, he lets us drift just like he has done in the past.  But know, when the time is right he will act, it may not be pleasant, he will take action to bring his people back to him.   We have taken him out of our schools, out government, public places and church attendance is declining... let Satan strike and who do we run to, yes God.   I remember after 911, Congress held hands and said a pray, all around the nation people held church services and for weeks following churches were full.   Just last month when Satan killed so many in the Sandy Hook school everyone ran to God for comfort.

We still allow the ACLU to demand that God be removed from our lives.   75+% of Americans say they believe in God yet we fail to stop the removal of Him from our lives.  Our President tells the world that the USA is not a Christian nation and we reelect him.   Millions of people sit in church and profess to be Godly people and yet not action is taken to defend God.  How sad is that.

He gives us life and over the year since Roe vs Wade we have killed millions of innocent babies.  It is pretty clear when God says, he formed us in our Mothers womb when life begins.

Want to know why evil grows, why our nation suffers, why kids do evil things... go back and look at the decline of our Christian values.   All great societies have a history of decline and we are following that history.   Wake Up America before it is to late.

As a believer in God and his Son, one can only imagine how God must feel when he sees what we as a nation are allowing to happen. My fear, based on things that we can read about in the Bible (history), how God may act to return us to him.  Worse yet, that he may not act and let us simple continue to decline. Today evil grows and the Devil is having a field day. Our youth are growing up without a firm knowledge of Jesus Christ and that is a tragedy.

We want to remove things to try and stop evil, what a joke.  What we have to do is put one thing back into our lives.   GOD

My prayer is that this nation will Wake Up and ask God for forgiveness and that his Mercy and Grace be returned to us.
