Snopes--Eye Opener - read below so you will know
For the past few =2 0 years www.snopes.com has positioned itself, or others have labeled it, as the 'tell-all final word' on any comment, claim and email. But for several years people tried to find out who exactly was behind snopes.com.
Only recently did Wikipedia get to the bottom of it - kinda makes you wonder what they were hiding. Well, finally we know. It is run by a husband and wife team - that's right, no big office of investigators and researchers, no team of lawyers. It's just a mom-and-pop operation that began as a hobby. David and Barbara M ikkelson in the San Fernando Valley of California started the website about 13 years ago - and they have no formal background or experience in investigative research. After a few years it gained popularity with many believing it to be unbiased and neutral, but over the pa st couple of years people started asking questions who was behind it and did they have a selfish motivation?
The reason for the questions - or skepticisms - is a result of snopes.com claiming to have the bottom line facts to certain questions or issue when in fact they have been proven wrong. Also, there were criticisms the Mikkelsons were not really investigating and getting to the 'true' bottom of various issues.
A few months ago, State Farm agent Bud Gregg in Mandeville hoisted a political sign referencing Barack Obama and made a big splash across the internet, 'supposedly' the Mikkelson's claim to have researched this issue before =2 0 posting their findings on snopes.com. In their statement they claimed the corporate office of State Farm pressured Gregg into taking down the sign, when in fact nothing of the sort 'ever' took place. I personally contacted David Mikkelson (and he replied back to me) thinking he would want to get to the bottom of this and I gave him Bud Gregg's contact phone numbers – and Bud was going to give him phone numbers to the big exec's at State Farm in Illinois who would have been willing to speak with him about it. He never called Bud. In fact, I learned from Bud Gregg no one from snopes.com ever contacted anyone with State Farm. Yet, snopes.com issued a statement as the 'final factual word' on the issue as if they did all their homework and got to the bottom of things - not!
Then it has been learned the Mikkelson's are very Democratic (party) and extremely liberal. As we all now know from this presidential election, liberals have a purpose driven agenda to discredit anything that appears to be conservative.
There has been much criticism lately over the internet with people pointing out the Mikkelson's liberalism revealing itself in their website findings.
So, I say this now to everyone who goes to snopes.com to get what they think to be the bottom line facts...'proceed with caution.' Take what it says at face value and nothing more. Use it only to lead you to their references where you can link to and read the sources for yourself. Remember, you can always Google a subject and do the research yourself. It now seems apparent that's all the Mikkelson's do. After all, I can personally vouch from my own experience for their 'not' fully looking into things.

I have found this to be true also! Many videos of Obama I tried to verify on Snopes and they said they were False...... Then they gave their Liberal slant....!!! I have suspected some problems with snopes for s ome time now, but I have only caught them in half-truths. If there is any subjectivity they do an immediate full left rudder. www.truthorfiction.com is a far a better source for verification, in my opinion.
This couple are is in the tank for Obama. There are many things they have listed on their site as a hoax and yet you can go to Youtube yourself and find the video of Obama actually saying these things. So you see, you cannot and should not... trust Snopes.com ever for anything that is remotely political! I don't even trust them to tell me if email chains are hoaxes anymore. So goes modern journalism. There are cropping up numerous sites and blogs that openly challenging Snopes's findings, opinions, and outright claims.
A few conservative speakers on Myspace told me about Snopes a few months ago and I took it upon myself to do a little research to find out if it was true. Well, I found out for myself that it is true. Anyway So you might consider thinking twice before relying on for Snopes.com for fact checking and so your friends the courtesy of tipping them off to Snopes political slant.
Many people still think Snopes.com is neutral and they can be trusted as factual.
We need to make sure everyone is aware that... that is a hoax in itself.

How serious is influenza?
Although many people think of influenza as a type of cold, it is really a specific and serious disease. Rates of infection are highest among children, but the risks for complications, hospitalizations, and deaths from influenza are higher among persons age 65 years or older, young children, and persons of any age who have medical conditions that place them at increased risk for complications from influenza. In nursing homes, up to 60% of residents may be infected, with up to a 30% fatality rate in the infected. Risk for influenza-associated death is highest among the oldest elderly: persons age 85 years and older are 16 times more likely to die from an influenza-associated illness than persons aged 65-69 years.
More than 200,000 people in the United States are hospitalized each year for respiratory and heart-related illnesses associated with influenza virus infections. The most frequent complication of influenza is bacterial pneumonia. Viral pneumonia is a less common complication but has a high fatality rate. Other complications include inflammation of the heart and worsening of such pulmonary diseases as bronchitis.
What is the best way to prevent influenza?
The best way to prevent influenza is with annual vaccination. There are two types of influenza vaccine. The most common influenza vaccine is made from inactivated (killed) viruses. The viruses are killed with formaldehyde, purified, and packaged in vials or syringes for injection. In June 2003, a live influenza vaccine was licensed. It contains live viruses that have been weakened (attenuated). The live vaccine is packaged in a special sprayer to be sprayed into the nose. About six months are required to produce influenza vaccine each year.
Who should get the influenza vaccine?
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and other major medical groups all recommend this vaccine. All persons age 6 months or older can benefit from receiving the influenza vaccine. Annual vaccination with inactivated vaccine is recommended for EVERYONE age 50 or older, children age 6 months through 18 years old, and anyone with chronic medical problems and/or weakened immune systems. Healthy household contacts (including children) and caregivers of these groups should also be vaccinated.
The live nasal spray vaccine may only be used in healthy, non-pregnant persons age 2 through 49 years. Children younger than age two years, persons age 50 and older, and anyone with a chronic medical condition should receive inactivated influenza vaccine (injectable), NOT live influenza vaccine.
How safe is this vaccine?
Influenza vaccine is very safe. The most common side effects of the injectable (inactivated) influenza vaccine include soreness, redness, or swelling at the site of the injection. These reactions are temporary and occur in 15%–20% of recipients. Fewer than 1% of vaccine recipients develop such symptoms as fever, chills, and muscle aches. These symptoms are more likely to occur in a person who has never been exposed to the influenza virus or vaccine. Experiencing these non-specific side effects does not mean that you are getting influenza. These symptoms can persist for 1 to 2 days.
Can the vaccine cause influenza?
Neither the injectable vaccine nor the intranasal vaccine can cause influenza. The injectable influenza vaccine contains only killed viruses and cannot cause influenza disease. Fewer than 1% of people who are vaccinated develop influenza-like symptoms, such as mild fever and muscle aches, after vaccination. These side effects are not the same as having the actual disease.
Protective immunity develops 1 to 2 weeks after vaccination. Some people who get vaccinated later in the season (December or later) may get influenza shortly afterward, but the disease they develop is the result of being exposed to someone with the virus before the vaccine produced immunity, not the result of the vaccination.
Also, to many people "the flu" is any illness with fever and cold symptoms. If they get any viral illness, they may blame it on the influenza shot or think they got "the flu" despite being vaccinated. Influenza vaccine only protects against certain influenza viruses, not all viruses.
In regards to the H1N1 virus, the CDC states that “current studies indicate the risk for infection among persons age 65 or older is less than the risk for younger age groups” and is prioritizing H1N1 vaccine for children, pregnant mothers, and health care personnel with direct patient contact. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS
Listening to a Liar
Ignore the lofty rhetoric: Obamacare is about the government accumulating power.

The most important thing about what anyone says is not the words themselves but the credibility of the person saying them.
The words of convicted swindler Bernie Madoff were apparently quite convincing to many people who were regarded as knowledgeable and sophisticated. If you go by words, you can be led into anything.
No doubt millions of people will be listening to the words of Pres. Barack Obama Wednesday night when he makes a televised address to a joint session of Congress on his medical-care plans. But, if they think that the words he says are what matters, they can be led into something much worse than being swindled out of their money.
One plain fact should outweigh all the words of Barack Obama and all the impressive trappings of the setting in which he says them: He tried to rush Congress into passing a massive government takeover of the nation’s health care before the August recess — for a program that would not take effect until 2013.
Whatever President Obama is, he is not stupid. If the urgency to pass the legislation were to deal with a problem immediately, then why postpone for years the date when the legislation would go into effect — specifically, until the year after the next presidential election?
If this is such an desperately needed program, why wait for years to put it into effect? And if the public is going to benefit from this, why not let them experience those benefits before the next presidential election?
If it is not urgent that the legislation go into effect immediately, then why don’t we have time to go through the normal process of holding Congressional hearings on the pros and cons, accompanied by public discussions of its innumerable provisions? What sense does it make to “hurry up and wait” on something that is literally a matter of life and death?
If we do not believe that the president is stupid, then what do we believe? The only reasonable alternative seems to be that he wanted to get this massive government takeover of medical care passed into law before the public understood what was in it.
Moreover, he wanted to get re-elected in 2012 before the public experienced what its actual consequences would be.
Unfortunately, this way of doing things is all too typical of the way this administration has acted on a wide range of issues.
Consider the “stimulus” legislation. Here the administration was successful in rushing a massive spending bill through Congress in just two days — after which it sat on the president’s desk for three days while he was away on vacation. But, like the medical care legislation, the “stimulus” legislation takes effect slowly.
The Congressional Budget Office estimates that it will be September 2010 before even three-quarters of the money will be spent. Some economists expect that it will not all be spent by the end of 2010.
What was the rush to pass it, then? It was not to get that money out into the economy as fast as possible. It was to get that money — and the power that goes with it — into the hands of the government. Power is what politics is all about.
The worst thing that could happen — from the standpoint of those seeking more government power over the economy — would be for the economy to begin recovering on its own while months were being spent debating the need for a “stimulus” bill. As the president’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, said, you can’t let a crisis “go to waste” when “it’s an opportunity to do things you could not do before.”
There are lots of people in the Obama administration who want to do things that have not been done before — and to do them before the public realizes what is happening.
The proliferation of White House “czars” in charge of everything from financial issues to media issues is more of the same circumvention of the public and of the Constitution. Czars don’t have to be confirmed by the Senate, the way cabinet members must be, even though czars may wield more power, so you may never know what these people are like, until it is too late.
What Barack Obama says Wednesday night is not nearly as important as what he has been doing — and how he has been doing it.

Madame Pelosi wasn't happy with the small private jet that comes with the Speaker's job...no, Madame Pelosi was aggravated that this little jet had to stop to refuel, so she ordered a Big Fat 200 seat jet that could get her back to California without stopping!
Many, many legislators walked by and grinned with glee as Joe informed everyone what Nancy's Big Fat Jet costs us, the hard working American Taxpayers, for the thousands of gallons of fuel every week.
Since she only works 3 days a week, this gas guzzling jet gets fueled and she flies home to California , cost to the taxpayers of about $60,000 one way!
As Joe put it, 'Unfortunately we have to pay to bring her back on Monday Night.' Cost to us is another $60,000. Folks, that is$480,000 per month and that is an annual cost to the taxpayers of $5,760,000. No wonder she complains about the cost of this war...it might cramp her style and she is styling, on my back and yours.
I think of the military families in this country doing without and this woman, who heads up the most do-nothing Congress in the history of this country, keeps fueling that jet while doing nothing.
Madame Pelosi wants you and me to conserve our carbon footprint. She wants us to buy smaller cars and Obama wants us to get a bicycle pump and air up our tires.
These people are nuts.

Russian Professor Igor Panarin postulates the collapse of the US by early November. He is “Doctor of Political Sciences, and Professor of the Russian Diplomatic Academy Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”
Panarin states: “Of note is the recent election of the Democratic Party in Japan whose leader ( Yokio Hatoyama ) has vowed to transfer Japan’s monetary reserves…. into a different currency. China will also begin to dump the Dollar, and Russia will demand payment for its gas and oil in Rubles.”
Obama is Monetizing the US Debt
Obama is Monetizing the US Debt (printing money and devalueing the dollar). The FDIC is BROKE and cannot cover a large number of bank failures, and 400 banks are set to fail. Commercial real estate loans are the next shoe to drop, just as Gerald Celente predicted.
The US Treasury is broke and cannot “Bail Out” anymore US banks.
Obama has appointed dozens of unvetted and unaccountable “czars”, most with openly Totalitarian and Marxist worldviews—and ambitions.
“Green Czar” Van Jones is a convicted felon, Ex-con, and self declared Communist. The “Diversity Czar” Lloyd desires the eradication of all dissenting opinion on the nation’s radio stations. Obama now seeks, through legislation complete control of all Internet communications, in the event of some “Crisis.”
These people are tyrants. These people are totalitarians. They plan the destruction of American liberty and its replacement with a Totalitarian Marxist / Fascist State like China. The execution of this is already underway, and fairly far along in its destruction. Former UN Ambassador Alan Keyes forsees Obama’s use of Crisis and Chaos preventing the 2010 Congressional elections.
Our utter Destruction is well under way by any measure. Half of American’s savings evaporated in eight short months, and THAT was no accident. The “U6” unemployment number is 16% not that phoney 9.5% Obama is shoveling. In some states closer to 25%.
In Nazi Germany they nationalized the banks, the auto manufacturers, and the Health Care System was then overseen by ardent Nazi Eugenicists. Any of this template sound familiar? Obama is now going after not only CIA Case Officers via his AG Eric Holder, but Congressman Gerald Nadler (D-NY) wants Cheney and Bush personally investigated now for possible “War Crimes.”
Obama’s czars are a Government alongside the existing one. A Commissariate like in Soviet Russia. After some “Crisis” the old system will be eradicated under THE PATRIOT ACT, Martial law will be declared, and Obama’s CHANGE will now be upon us.
Jerry O’Connell is correct about what may happen on 9-12 at the Rally in DC. “Agents Provacateurs” might just be sent to foment a riot, resulting in a violent crackdown by Obama’s thugs. American Liberty is under attack ALREADY by OUR OWN GOVERNMENT.
Did you observe the politicians at those Town Hall meetings? Totally oblivious to their own Constituent’s wishes, like they know something that we don’t? Perhaps they are secure in the knowledge that they not fear the outcome of a 2010 mid-term election?
The Government is not America. The PEOPLE are America, but their government now sees it’s own citizens as threats. Recall that DHS Memo? It’s WAY long past the time to vigorously remind them of that, but I fear their game’s afoot, and they simply don’t give a Damn what We think. Our Elected officials now are would be Feudal Lords.

Dr. Panarin’s prediction had one last chilling comment:
“In my Opinion the probability of the US CEASING TO EXIST by 2010 exceeds 50%. At this point, THE MISSION OF ALL INTERNATIONAL POWERS IS TO PREVENT CHAOS IN THE US.”
How will they “PREVENT CHAOS” within in the United States. By what Action or Mechanism?
Panarin is not some academic sitting in an Ivory Tower at some Russian university…. He’s a member of their Government’s diplomatic arm, and his job is to forecast “trends” so Putin and his henchmen can plan strategically for future events for the Russians to exploit.
William Ayers plan was always to foment the collapse of the US System and “Invite” Military Forces from China and North Korea into the US to “Keep Order.”
If Panarin and Gerald Celente are correct, our collapse is to be expected sooner rather than later, And as Glenn Beck has so bravely pointed out, Obama and his crew of Chicago Political Thugs, SEIU Union Goons, ACORN anarchists are complicit, and the architects of our downfall.
If it is not treasonous to bankrupt the nation and her people, and then plot and execute a plan for the eradication of the American Republic and Freedom itself, I don’t know what IS.
